2009 Summer Newsletter

Present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:13-14

The WELL is in a season of transition. So far, 2009 has been an amazing year. The past few years have been marked with God’s grace and our current season has God’s fingerprints all over it.

The series Defending Your Title: Reclaiming Biblical Identities was a remarkable study of the person and work of Jesus Christ and the implications of the gospel identities he bestows on His people. We see that living under grace is a promise, not a command. This is the essence of the gospel: who Christ is and what he’s done. He continues to bring about restoration and reconciliation in the lives of individuals, couples, families, and the downtown community of Augusta.

New Location

The WELL has called 716 Broad Street home for two years and we have outgrown it. Beginning in September, our new location will be 1285-B Broad Street. This is a strategic location that will accommodate twice the number of folks as 716 as well as provide opportunities for special events. More details will be coming soon via our website and email newsletter. We are planning the first service at the new location to be September 13th. Much has to happen between now and then. We can use your help!

New Series

As the Defending Your Title concludes, we’ll begin a 5-part miniseries on The Church based on Acts 2:42-47 which will set us up for a thorough study of 1 Corinthians beginning in September at the new location.

New Website

Our website is being redesigned and relaunched! Take some time to explore the changes and keep in touch for further developments.

The Silvas’

The Mission Continues

The WELL’s mission is Know-Live-Build. Know the Christ of the gospel, live out the gospel of Christ, and build the gospel community of Christ through the local church in the city. As this mission continues, we can use your help:

  • Pray. Pray for the WELL, it’s leaders and members. Pray for Augusta- that downtown would be receptive to the gospel.
  • Give. We greatly appreciate your generosity. There are many ongoing expenses to run the ministry, but certainly added costs for transitioning to the new location.

Checks can be made payable to The WELL. Please indicate in the memo line if the gift is to be appropriated to a special purpose. Or check out our new online giving option.
